VRFocus- Plenty of big names have become involved with virtual reality (VR) technology in the past year, arguably the most surprising of which is Google. The search engine giant revealed a head-mounted display (HMD) of its own last year that wasnt intended to take on the likes of the Oculus Rift but instead appeal to the low-end market. That HMD was Google Cardboard, a smartphone-based kit that users could assemble themselves. The concept proved to be a hit with certain companies, but one VR fan is looking to do better by switching out cardboard for foam.

This includes work on the virtual reality (VR) editions of the videogame, already confirmed for both Oculus Rift on PC and Project Morpheus on PlayStation 4. Maze Roller updated with new level and Oculus Rift features

Just two days ago The Rift Arcade checked out Maze Roller 0.0.2. Today, version 0.0.3 was released with improved Rift support and a brand new level. Its a significant update, fixing a plethora of VR issues including auto Rift detection, camera tracking improvements, optimisations and the ability to use head tracking to select items in the games menu. Additionally, a brand new level has been added that takes place within a hedge maze that surrounds a castle tower. Its not just a simple maze either, players must now navigate to a catapult to launch themselves over the castle moat, before they must trigger a draw bridge before continuing towards the exit. The drop traps have also been replaced with pools of water.

Viewpoint Games Launches Demo for VR Karts

VRFocus- Earlier this week VRFocus took a look at one of the first attempts to bring the popular kart racing videogame genre to virtual reality (VR) technology. VR Karts aims to bring Mario Kart-esque thrills to the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), hoping to launch around the same time as the as-of-yet undated consumer version of the device. For those wanting to sample the experience before that release, UK-based developer Viewpoint Games has today released the first demo for VR Karts on PC.

VRFocus - Fans of surreal and comedic videogames may well already be familiar with Soda Drinker Pro, the self-dubbed first-person soda simulator. This unique experience was launched on PC years ago and even started a Steam Greenlight campaign to launch on Valves digital store back in 2013.
